Family History Miracle
A few weeks ago our family went up the temple using our own family history names. We only had a couple to do, and I was soon going to run out. I said a prayer while I was in the temple that I would be able to find more from this particular family. It had been so difficult to find any, and I really felt a great joy from doing our own family history names. I didn't want it to end.
When we got home from our trip, I was very surprised to see an email from a stranger. She said that she had seen an old picture that I had posted on the internet, and wanted to know if I was related to... guess who... the very same family that we had just gone to the temple for.
You could call it a coincidence, or you could call it a miracle. I like to believe that there are no such things as coincidences.
It was a humbling and exciting experience for me, and in the course of a week in correspondence with this lady, I now have pages and pages of family names that I never had. What a blessing!
Our Stake President inspired me to start on our family history. I'm so glad I did. I always thought this was something you did when you were retired, and had time on your hands. I would have missed out on so many exciting experiences if I had done that. The fire has been lit!
Come and join us THIS THURSDAY, and GET YOUR FIRE LIT, as we work on our family history together for our Mid-week activity! 7 to 9 p.m.

The activity we had last night was nice. The family history consultants were very helpful in helping one of our sisters transliterate Chinese to English characters. I know they didn't know they would have to do that last night! We also had a new convert sister start her own family history.
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone who came, and the refreshments were delicious!
